Two 3-year postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the recently established group of Manolis Papamichos-Chronakis at Institut Curie in Paris, France.

Our group is interested in understanding how chromatin structure contributes to maintenance of genome stability and how fundamental DNA metabolic processes cope with the compacted chromosomal structure of DNA. More specifically, we focus our research on the role of chromatin remodeling factors and histone variants in DNA replication and aneuploidy.

Based on our previous work and employing budding yeast as a model system we approach our questions using a combination of yeast molecular genetics, biochemistry and high throughput genomic assays such as mononucleosomal ChIP-chip and ChIP-seq techniques. In addition, we are expanding our studies to human cells with the use of cell imaging techniques.

The lab is hosted at the Nuclear Dynamics and Genome Plasticity / CNRS UMR218 Unit of the Institut Curie, located in the heart of Paris. Applicants should hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related discipline. Prior experience in human cell biology, genomics or yeast genetics is not essential but desirable.
