Offre de : "Post-doctoral research fellowship in cell biophysics"

A post-doctoral position is open at the Institut Curie, Paris, France in the field of cell biophysics. The aim of this interdisciplinary project is to study the molecular and physical characteristics of 3D-growth of normal and cancer cells within elastic capsules. Hydrogel capsules will be made using microfluidic devices in collaboration with the group of J. Bibette (ESPCI, Paris). Visualization of tissue growth and quantification of the cellular response to elastic confinement will be performed using the state-of-the-art imaging facilities of the Institut Curie (Nikon imaging center). Cell lines will be obtained from the Department of Clinical Pathology of the Institut Curie. The candidate will thus have the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment with colleagues within the Physics, Cell Biology, and Translational Research Departments of the Institut Curie.

Position profile :
The successful candidates will have a PhD in a relevant area of biophysics with a strong background in experimental soft matter physics or in biophysics. Additional experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage: cell culture, optical microscopy, molecular and cellular biology, microfluidics.
