Applications are invited for two-three years position within a research group led by Philippe Benaroch.
Ongoing work in the group is focused on the molecular and functional analysis of the of human plasmacytoïd pre-dendritic cells (pDC) activation by TLR ligands The group, which recently received an National Research Agency (ANR) grant on this topic, has developed original tools and techniques to approach important questions raised by this phenomenon.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on basic research at the interface of cell biology and immunology that has direct relevance to understanding the immune system. The lab is part of a large immunology unit headed by Sebastian Amigorena. It is located in a building devoted to cell biology within the Institut Curie campus in the heart of Paris. The building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities: flow cytometers, confocal and video microscopy, proteomics, bioinformatics etc. The building hosts around 200 bench scientists including many foreign post-doctoral fellows, and department and group meeting are held in English. The building is part of a larger campus, which can provide complementary expertise and equipment in other scientific domains.
The position is available now and is funded by the ANR grant. Highly motivated Research Fellows keen to learn and develop new techniques will enjoy a supportive environment and a challenging project. The successful applicant will have a PhD in Immunology/ Cell biology and prior experience in molecular biology and/or imaging techniques.
